About Music Biology

FRETBOARD BIOLOGY is a self-paced, highly organized system of learning that will help you master the theoretical and practical aspects of guitar so you can play at an advanced level. This program is designed to cover roughly eight semesters’ worth of required “main instrument” courses at an academic music program similar to institutions like Berklee School of Music, McNally Smith College of Music, or Musicians Institute. However, not similar to these institutions, Fretboard Biology provides the flexibility and low price point of self-directed learning. You'll learn the same things as other students at top college guitar programs without the expense or inconvenience. FRETBOARD BIOLOGY gives you “The Knowledge without the College!” ™ About the author JOE ELLIOTT: Joe's professional experience as an educator includes 23 years of teaching at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California for the Guitar Institute of Technology (G.I.T.) and Baccalaureate programs and various clinics throughout the U.S. In Joe's years at M.I. he wrote and edited courses for G.I.T. and M.I.’s Baccalaureate programs, spent 3 years as G.I.T. Department Head, and 9 years as Vice President and Director of Education. Joe also served as Guitar Department Head and Director of Academic Administration at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, Minnesota for 7 years. Joe's professional playing experience includes 30 years in the Los Angeles music scene as a guitarist, musical director, and composer in a variety of music settings including network TV, movie soundtrack, studio, concert and club venues. In 2010 Joe left Los Angeles and moved to join the rich music scene in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. Most recently Joe was the guitarist for 6-time Grammy winner and alto sax legend, David Sanborn.
