About Musicians Abroad

Musicians Abroad is a division of Music Travel Consultants, a tour operator based in Indianapolis. Since 1987, led by accomplished scholastic music directors, musicians and music education industry professionals, MTC has become the first choice for student music group tours by providing industry-leading online services. Over 165 years combined travel expertise earned in over 68 countries has lead Music Travel Consultants to launch Musicians Abroad. During the pandemic, Ambassadors of Music, a long-standing student travel tradition, was sidelined for two years. In the wake of the travel shutdown, the travel planner running these tours closed their doors. With a strong commitment to the organizers from several states, MTC stepped up to provide a similar opportunity for these ensembles. Musicians Abroad catapulted off an already amazing student experience to one that fit the nature of today’s international travel demands. Rather than offer the same itinerary to every state or regional group biannually, Musicians Abroad uses the power of MTC’s extensive international travel knowledge to customize plans that fit each ensemble and their students. Two inaugural trips for Indiana and Kentucky debuted in the summer of 2023 with three new tours planned for 2024 and at least six trips scheduled for the following summer.
