About My Friends House
My Friends House is committed to uplifting those in need, providing the best services possible with love and compassion. Our mission is to strengthen the social safety net, through assisting individuals by retaining their human dignity. My Friends House formerly, known as Neighborhood House, is an outreach ministry of Ascension Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Los Angeles founded on the principle that a healthy neighborhood is one in which the socio-political, academic and spiritual life of a community has a center. My Friends House endeavors to be that center for the community in which it resides. Recently established as a 501(c)3 corporation, we seek to build a stronger community by being a part of a highly visible and accessible network of cooperative organizations providing support for those who are most vulnerable to "falling through the cracks" of our larger support systems. As a faith-based organization, we manifest the love and compassion of Christ by uplifting those in need while maintaining their human dignity.
