About My HELM

My HELM CIC My HELM was established in March 2019. My HELM CIC is a not-for-profit alternative education provider based in Hove, Brighton, offering inclusive, creative, and therapeutic learning environments for children and young people aged 8–16. We specialise in supporting those who may find mainstream education challenging, including neurodivergent learners and those with social, emotional, or mental health needs (SEMH). At the heart of our approach is a commitment to child-led learning. Our workshops and clubs cover a diverse range of subjects, including art, music, science, English, maths, history, and more. We also welcome innovative subjects that align with our mission to inspire and engage. Each session is designed to be interactive and adaptable, ensuring that every participant can learn at their own pace in a safe and welcoming space. Our experienced tutors and workshop leaders are passionate about fostering confidence, creativity, and connection. They bring a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of the unique needs of our learners, creating an environment where young people can thrive. In addition to our term-time programs, we offer flexible scheduling options, including 1 to 5-day club courses per week, with each day consisting of structured activities and recreational time. We also provide holiday clubs, offering additional opportunities for engagement and growth. We are proud to collaborate with local councils and community organisations to extend our reach and impact. Our goal is to empower young individuals to rediscover the joy of learning, build meaningful relationships, and develop the skills needed for further education and beyond.
