About My Sister's Closet
My Sister’s Closet (MSC) is operated by our volunteers, paired with staff supervision. We receive donations from the community which are sorted through, keeping gently used clothing and then putting the clothing into MSC. Last year alone, we tracked over 3800 volunteer hours in the closet, as well as over 1900 employment hours (through employment grants). These numbers don’t include permanent staff even though quite often we are required to help out. For those who can afford it, we charge a very minimal amount ($1.00), for each item; this way women can put their money towards other important things. For other women who can not afford it, an intake is completed and Vouchers are given. The amount depends on the number of dependents.
