The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are the Class A-Advanced Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. The club was founded in 1999 and from its inaugural season until 2010, the Pelicans were an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. From 2011 until 2014 they were an affiliate of the Texas Rangers.
