Mysticetus has been created to bring modern technologies to marine mammal impact mitigation practices. Using Mysticetus is shown to save significant costs to any ocean based anthropogenic activities through significant reduction of false shutdowns to operations and delays to start up. Marine mammal observers are allowed to leverage an automated system that merges current GPS, internet, user interface design, and database methods. Observers are no longer burdened by manual calculations in determining animal locations. Multiple Observers automatically share sightings and all have full situational awareness around their deployed platforms. Report generation is fully automated and all data is backed up without their having to think about it. Researchers benefit from using Mysticetus in its ease of use allows them to leverage all volunteers from all backgrounds with a minimum of time to learn. No command lines, no manual calculations, graphical display quickly verifies animal location all of which assure the researchers have the highest fidelity of data.
