About Mzumbe University

Establishment Mzumbe University was established in December 2006 in accordance with section 4(1) of the Mzumbe Charter of 2007. The University is the successor to the Mzumbe University established by the Mzumbe University Act. No. 9 of 2001, which was repealed by the Universities Act. No. 7 of 2005. Mission The Mission of the University is to provide opportunities for acquisition, development, preservation and dissemination of knowledge and skills through training, research, technical and professional services. Vision Mzumbe University strives to be a center of excellence in management science for knowledge acquisition and adaptation through training research, consultancy, public service and outreach activities in Africa and beyond by the year 2015. Programmes offered The University offers degree (bachelors, masters and Ph.D.) and non-degree courses on the following key areas: Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, Economic Planning, Public Administration, Law, Population Studies, Information and Communication Technology, Development Studies and Local Government. Faculties Mzumbe University has five faculties namely: Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Public, Administration and Management The University Campuses: Mzumbe University is currently having three campuses: Mzumbe Main Campus, Dar es salaam Campus, and Mbeya Campus Location The University is located wouthwest of Morogoro Municipality and is about 220 kms from Dar es Salaam at the foothills of the Uluguru mountain ranges.
