About Nailepu Foundation

Nailepu Foundation helps girls from rural Narok County transition to tertiary education. In the Maasai Community, girls especially face many obstacles when continuing their education. Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and early marriages continue to be the biggest bottleneck for girls to continue with their education. Every year, less than 10% of girls continue from Primary School to Secondary School education, and less than 5% continue to universities and colleges. We aim to provide a safe environment for girls after completing high school where they spend a couple of months acquiring valuable skills such as basic computer studies, fashion design fundamentals and practicals, and hair and beauty courses, which will enable these girls to be more financially independent and able to support themselves through tertiary institutions.
