About NAMI Southeast Minnesota

Founded locally in 1986, NAMI Southeast Minnesota is a funded affiliate of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of people affected by mental illness. We currently serve individuals living with mental illness and their families in the Olmsted, Mower, Dodge, Fillmore, Houston, Wabasha, and Goodhue counties. Our staff and volunteers are comprised of people living with mental illness, family members, and professionals. We offer critical education, advocacy, and support programs in the community at no charge to support the individual, their loved ones, and the mental health care system. We do this by working to eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness, encourageing those with mental illness to seek treatment, and advocating policies and practices that encourage the development of equitable, community-based mental health services which empower active recovery. NAMI Southeast Minnesota programs inspire hope--hope that you and your loved ones experience the fullest level of recovery possible.
