Nanomation is a semiconductor software start-up from the University of Cambridge Department of Engineering. Our patented technology makes it possible for the semiconductor industry to manufacture with nanomaterials for the first time, paving the way for faster, more powerful, and more efficient chips. Improved microchip performance has historically been achieved by increasing the number of transistors on each chip. This process is becoming increasingly difficult as we are reaching the physical limits of how densely packed chips can get. Nanomaterials, measuring just 1000th of the width of a human hair, have the potential to transform chip manufacturing, through increasing the power, speed, and efficiency of chips without needing to further increase transistor density. Until now, industry has not been able to access the benefits of these transformative materials.
