About Narture

Narture CIC Transforming Communities Through Food, Art, and Creativity Founded in June 2020, Narture CIC is a social enterprise based in Ayr, Scotland, focused on revitalising vacant town centre properties into vibrant spaces for creativity, culture, and community wellbeing. Our mission is to empower individuals through creativity, champion sustainability, and foster inclusivity, with the belief that everyone is an artist. At the heart of Narture are our award-winning Sourdough Bakery and Artisan Café. Specialising in handmade, sustainable sourdough products, our bakery has won Bread Bakery of the Year from Prestige Scotland for three consecutive years. The café serves healthy, locally-sourced food and contributes to community wellbeing by donating surplus produce to food banks. Narture’s core creative spaces include Narture Studios and Make at 30 & 34 Newmarket Street, which provide affordable artist studios, exhibition spaces, and community hubs. These venues host workshops, talks, and events that promote creativity, collaboration, and local talent. Our initiatives are guided by three pillars: Creativity, Sustainability, and Wellbeing. In 2024, Narture won the Creative Regeneration Award at the SURF Awards and was shortlisted for the Scotland Loves Local Awards, Ayrshire Chamber Business Awards, and Scotland’s Most Enterprising Community Award. These accolades recognise our impact in supporting local culture and community regeneration. Narture’s aim is to continue transforming vacant spaces into thriving centres for creativity and social change. We believe in the power of food and art to drive economic growth, improve wellbeing, and build sustainable, inclusive communities.
