About Nassau County Council on Aging
The Nassau County Council on Aging has been serving the needs of mature adults in Nassau County, Florida, for more than 40 years. Our goal is to preserve the quality of life, dignity and independence of senior citizens in our community. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Nassau County Council on Aging serves as an advocate and resource for those age 60 and older seeking information, counseling, assistance and referral to available services for senior citizens. Through our many programs, such as Adult Day HealthCare, Home Health Services, Meals on Wheels and our two Senior Life Centers, the Nassau County Council on Aging is dedicated to helping seniors life happy, healthy lives. Our mission is to improve the lives of older adults with a special focus on those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged. We accomplish this through our two Senior Life Centers, providing vital programs, services and compassionate care designed to improve the health, independence and economic security of Nassau County seniors and their families. The Nassau County Council on Aging delivers critical services to Nassau County senior citizens in five major areas: Meals on Wheels, Home Health Services, NassauTRANSIT, Adult Day HealthCare and our two Senior Life Centers -- the East Nassau Center in Fernandina Beach and the West Nassau Center in Hilliard. The Nassau County Council on Aging also coordinates available funding and volunteer resources to maximize choices for older adults while providing valuable information and support for caregivers. As part of a national network of area agencies established under regulations for the Area Agency on Aging, we are funded by federal, state and local grants and from the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and the United Way, as well as through donations from companies and individuals.
