A leader in the development of NFPA 921, NAFI has lead the charge to bring fire investigation into the 21st century. Our wide variety of NFPA 921 based training programs are unmatched in the industry. OUR MEMBERS...are fire investigators, attorneys, fire fighters, government employees, insurance claims persons, adjusters, military personnel, engineers, chemists, metallurgists, laboratory analysts, or those involved in some phase of investigation, control, suppression, or prevention of fire and explosion or the legal trials which may result from this activity. OUR MISSION...Our primary purposes are to increase the knowledge and improve the skills of persons engaged in the investigation and analysis of fires, explosions and arsons, or the litigation that ensues from such investigations. OUR HISTORY...The National Association of Fire Investigators, a not for profit organization, was organized in 1961 by a group of fire and explosion investigation professionals who recognized the need for an organization which would provide timely and topical technical training and professional education for its members who were involved in the investigation and analysis of fire and explosion incidents and the civil and criminal litigation which ensues from such investigations and analyses. To that end, the primary goal of the National Association of Fire Investigators is to increase the knowledge and improve the skills of its members engaged in the investigation and analysis of fires, explosions, and arson, or in the litigation, which ensues from such analyses.
