About National Center on Adoption and Permanency
Mission The mission of the National Center for Adoption and Permanency (NCAP) is to move policy and practice in the U.S. beyond their current concentration on child placement to a model in which enabling families of all kinds to succeed – through education, training and support services – becomes the bottom-line objective. To accomplish its mission, NCAP is built as a unique “one-stop” organization that provides a broad range of multidisciplinary services and resources relating to adoption, foster care and child welfare. The consultancy – through its website and its team of highly experienced and successful researchers, educators, speakers, program developers and presenters – is designed to provide a single destination where agencies, government entities at all levels, conference organizers, family and advocacy groups, and professionals can go for expert services and consulting, reliable information, and other assistance to fill their short-term and strategic needs. Two pre-eminent leaders in their fields – former Donaldson Adoption Institute President Adam Pertman and former Kinship Center CEO Carol Biddle – lead NCAP, which is a division of Myriad Strategic Partners, a consultancy that Pertman founded to provide organizational, strategic, financial, policy and communications services to nonprofit and business clients. Those currently include the Stewards of Change Institute, the Walt Disney Company, Harmony Family Center in Tennessee, and Medical Marijuana of Massachusetts. Our services are tailored to address the organizations and systems whose passion – like ours – is to help children and families succeed through evidenced based policy and practice improvement.
