About National Geotechnical Centrifuge Facility
The world-leading National Geotechnical Centrifuge Facility (NGCF) undertakes state-of-the art physical modelling of complex geotechnical problems to address key challenges in offshore and onshore geotechnical engineering. The NGCF currently operates the only geotechnical centrifuge facility in Australia and runs an impressive three geotechnical centrifuges: - a 3.6m diameter fixed beam centrifuge, - a new 10m diameter centrifuge, and - a 1.2m drum centrifuge. These centrifuges spin 24/7 around 270 days of the year, working to provide answers to challenging geotechnical engineering problems facing the offshore energy industries.
