About National HBCU Auxiliary and Dance Directors' Association

Our organization serves Coaches, Directors, Student Performers, supporters and alumni of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) performance teams. We provide networking opportunities, professional development for high/middle school educators (particularly those in underserved communities), studio owners and HBCU coaches and performers. We facilitate immersion into the HBCU performance culture (Dance, Auxiliary and Baton Twirling) for our students and the community, exposure to colleges and professional performance opportunities for performers, and scholarships for performers and teams that assist them with college tuition and expenses, as well as performance and operational expenses. Our vision is that we are able to inspire excellence in our performance genre by mentoring coaches, performers and those that support our membership. We strive to build student leaders, encourage community involvement, create pathways to future careers in the performance arena, and mentor the next generation of performance coaches to see our unique craft forward, as we represent our universities, schools and communities. Our marquis event is our National Conference which is held each year in Atlanta, GA. We also sponsor virtual workshops, summer skills workshops, and one-on-one mentoring of our HBCU coaches. Our HBCUADD All-Stars represent the best of the best from our HBCUs and Showstyle High Schools.
