What We Do? The National Irish Safety Organisation Limited, trading as National Irish Safety Organisation and known as NISO, is a company limited by guarantee not having a share capital, registered in Dublin, Ireland and operating since 1963 with registered office at A11 Calmount Park, Ballymount, Dublin 12 and registered company number 183138. Mission Statement To create the conditions where Irish workplaces are among the safest and healthiest in Europe through: • The provision of leading information, advisory and training services. • The promotion of a culture of excellence in workplace health and safety. • Playing a leading role in advancing the national health and safety agenda. • Helping members develop a culture of health and safety in their workplace. Membership of NISO Membership-based, NISO helps its members to promote and improve health and safety at work, builds relationships with other health and safety stakeholders, and contributes its expertise to better occupational health and safety in Ireland. We have teams of dedicated volunteers that organise activities in the eight regions of Ireland. Self-funded through membership, events and training courses, we are independent from other Health and Safety Stakeholders. We collaborate with the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) and IBEC; each has a seat on NISO’s Executive Committee We organise various health and safety events including All Ireland events with the Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG). NISO provides a range of services designed to work towards NISO’s mission statement including the provision of health and safety information through publications, developing and running courses, and generally providing support to the executive and regional committees.
