About National Maritime Heritage Foundation

The National Maritime Heritage Foundation (NMHF) is the official maritime heritage organization of the District of Columbia. NMHF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing lives and inspiring young minds through maritime adventures. NMHF provides active programs located in Southwest Washington D.C., re-connecting people of the Washington metropolitan region to the water and to the martime history of the region. Sailing opportunities are available for adults and youth aboard small boats and the 65 foot schooner, American Spirit. Profits from all programs go towards offering underprivileged inner city youth the opportunity to learn to sail.
