The NPAA's mission as a fishing trade organization is to help members succeed as angling and business professionals. History: The NPAA was started by a group of angling professionals in 1997 as a 501c6 non-profit trade association with a mission to increase the professionalism of their members while working to grow and protect sportfishing. Nearly 28 years later, the NPAA has close to 1,400 members and over 110 partners supporting this mission. EDUCATION: The National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA) is dedicated to helping members succeed as angling and business professionals. NPAA members have ongoing access to educational seminars, networking events, product discounts from top industry partners, and discounted registration fees at the NPAA’s Annual Conference. PROTECTION: The NPAA advocates on behalf of its members and the public to protect the future of sportfishing. The organization works to ensure unrestricted access to public waters and sustainable management of aquatic resources. To achieve this goal the NPAA partners closely with private interests, state and federal agencies, and the fishing industry. PARTICIPATION: The NPAA is also committed to growing sportfishing participation at every level. Through a grant with Wildlife Forever https://www.wildlifeforever.org/ the NPAA supplies rods, reels, and other essentials to event attendees of all ages. These educational angling events are hosted by NPAA volunteers at major tournaments, fishing club events, and other gatherings held throughout the year.
