About National Society of Black Female Future Attorneys
The Society of Black Female Future Attorneys, founded in 2020 at Florida State University by a collective of ten minority students, represents a beacon of unity and empowerment within the academic and professional realm of law. This pioneering group established a sisterhood firmly rooted in shared aspirations of academic excellence, shared experiences of intersectionality, professional and personal growth, and unwavering dedication to a legal career path. At its core, the Society serves as a robust support network for its members, fostering an environment where each woman can thrive academically and personally. Through mentorship, networking opportunities, and skill-building activities, NSBFFA empowers its members to navigate the challenges inherent in pursuing a legal education and career. Beyond individual advancement, the Society is committed to collective upliftment. By actively encouraging and supporting other women who share their aspirations, the members aim to foster a community of future attorneys who reflect diversity, resilience, and determination in the face of systemic barriers. Since its inception, the Society has organized a variety of initiatives aimed at promoting the success of its member. These efforts include hosting guest speakers, organizing workshops on topics ranging from lsat prep to law school application development, providing free resources and scholarships, and participating in community outreach programs that emphasize the importance of legal advocacy in marginalized communities. Through their collective efforts, the Society of Black Female Future Attorneys has expanded beyond Florida State University and has established branches of their organization for students at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, and East Carolina University with more to come!
