About Nativas Chile

Nativas es una organización científica juvenil que promueve la participación activa de niñas y jóvenes en la conservación de la fauna nativa de Chile. Mediante educación ambiental, ciencia ciudadana y trabajo territorial, fortalecemos la protección de especies nativas y endémicas articulando a jóvenes chilenas en iniciativas de conservación. Priorizamos la inclusión de quienes están subrepresentadas en el campo científico y en contextos donde históricamente se ha negado su acceso a la ciencia y la naturaleza. El proyecto se originó en Canadá y se ha consolidado en Chile, conectando experiencias y conocimientos para potenciar la conservación de la fauna del Cono Sur. Nativas is a scientific youth organization that promotes the active participation of girls and young women in the conservation of Chile's native wildlife. Through environmental education, citizen science, and community work, we strengthen the protection of native and endemic species by engaging young Chilean women in conservation initiatives. We prioritize the inclusion of those who are underrepresented in the scientific field and in contexts where access to science and nature has historically been denied. The project originated in North America and has been consolidated in Chile, connecting experiences and knowledge to enhance the conservation of wildlife in the Southern Cone.
