Natural Citrus Products is a privately held company developed to implement and commercialize unique technologies associated with the processing of organic biomass (waste) of fruits, vegetables and other organic materials. The valuable extracts which can be mined by Natural Citrus Products’s technologies have immediate commercial value in a variety of identified industries and have particular application in the functional food industry. Most importantly, the Natural Citrus Products process enhances the environment by reducing and/or eliminating toxic pollutants associated with biomass material. Prior to the introduction of the Natural Citrus Products process, conventional methods of eliminating biomass waste involved burning or landfill dumping which are extremely harmful to the environment. Alternate methods have been introduced over the years such as cattle feed pellets (from citrus biomass) that this process has typically been more costly to produce than the resulting commercial resale value. Although citrus processors recover most of the essential oils in the peel, the amount remaining is released as air pollutants and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during cattle feed manufacturing. Natural Citrus Products’ new technology provides a cost effective method to recover the valuable oil and sugar from the biomass material while virtually eliminating harmful VOC emissions and waste water residue.
