The Natural Diamond Council is the authority and resource on natural diamonds for consumers and the industry. Originally formed as the Diamond Producers Association, our mission is to advance the integrity of the modern diamond jewelry industry and to inspire, educate and support consumers. We do this by: • Communicating the inherent value and benefits of natural diamonds and the companies supplying them. • Reinforcing the positive impact of the natural diamond industry by sharing insights, communicating best practices and promoting ethical, social and environmental standards. • Ensuring clear and accurate information about diamonds and the diamond industry. • Partnering with industry stakeholders for the purpose of driving transparency and trust. Together, our five members (De Beers, Petra Diamonds, Rio Tinto, Okavango Diamond Company, The GEM Group) represent approximately 75% of the world’s rough diamond production. With operations in six continents and more than a dozen countries including Canada, South Africa, Botswana, and Australia, Natural Diamond Council members contribute to a sustainable future and impact the lives of millions of people.
