About Nature's Haven

Nature’s Haven Healing Garden has been created as a response to the difficult times we are living in. Our garden is restorative yet enabling, allowing the visitor to 'simply be' and/or actively engage in gardening. Based in Maidenhead town centre where access to green space is very limited, our initiative gives residents the opportunity to explore health benefits of gardening and nature, whilst connecting with others to create a community hub. Phase1 of the project is completed, a proven successful garden, regularly used by the community via volunteer sessions, gatherings/events, workshops. Phase 2 is now underway, having just secured funding to develop adjacent overgrown / neglected space in order to produce more fruits /vegetables, a dedicated orchard and raised beds, making it accessible for those with mobility issues. It will enable us to deliver our initiative ‘Sow, Grow, Eat & Repeat’, workshops on how to grow produce throughout the year, the nutritional benefits of grow your own /eating seasonally, the healing power of food and the opportunity to prepare / cook onsite. We will be promoting a food and seed share community. We champion sustainability and we are guided by permaculture principles thus avoiding synthetic fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. Our vision: To make everyone feel valued and part of the community. Our mission: To enable our community to access and learn about the therapeutic benefits of gardening and nature within a haven that provides nourishment for the mind, body and soul.
