About Naval Acquisition Career Center (NACC)
The Naval Acquisition Career Center (NACC) is comprised of a staff located at Naval Support Activity, Mechanicsburg, PA where they manage the day-to-day operations for the Naval Acquisition Development Program (NADP). The NACC began its first hiring of entry-level employees, formerly known as "Interns" back in 1984, but officially for the Department of Navy (DON) in 1992 when the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) was signed into law. Aligned under the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Research, Development, and Acquisition (ASN/RDA) division in Washington, DC, NACC serves as the primary organization to supply the DON with civilian Acquisition Workforce (AWF) personnel. NACC works in collaboration with major naval commands to fulfill their acquisition requirements. NACC also oversees the program management responsibility for the Navy's Acquisition Workforce Tuition Assistance Program (AWTAP), the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) registrar and travel, and serves as the electronic Director, Acquisition Workforce Management (eDACM) customer support staff. As the focal point driving the support and management of some of the most important programs within the Navy, NACC has become a "center of excellence".
