Our work collectively improves health outcomes for historically marginalized populations statewide and builds systems to support the inclusivity and decision-making abilities of these underserved populations long term. NCCHW is fully funded through federal and state grants, foundation funding, contracts, and made possible with UNC Asheville’s support. The Culture of Results initiative provides training and support to assess opportunities, impact, and improve programs and systems statewide. The Healthy Aging NC initiative supports multi-sector agencies statewide to offer evidence-based programs and increase access to health promotion and disease management resources. The WNC Health Policy Initiative informs strategies for improving the health and well-being of people in Western NC through scholarship, collaboration, policy development and advocacy. NCCHW works collaboratively to conduct research, advocate for policy improvements, develop programs, support/train the health workforce, and communicate about health with a variety of community partners addressing all aspects of health.
