About Nebraska Juvenile Justice Association

About Us Mission and History: The mission of the Nebraska Juvenile Justice Association is to improve services to youth in the juvenile justice system by serving as a resource for collaboration, leadership development, and education for juvenile justice system professionals. The Nebraska Juvenile Justice Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1974 to provide statewide training for persons and professionals interested in juvenile justice issues. In the beginning, conferences were small events of 30-40 people. Over the years, the NJJA annual conference has grown to become the premiere juvenile justice conference in the state, providing training and education to over 300 professionals statewide. Through our website, NJJA strives to be a resource for juvenile justice professionals year round by providing: access to juvenile justice resources; information about emerging policy initiatives and best practices; recognition of the exceptional efforts of professionals in our field; and information about training and professional development opportunities. Leadership: The Nebraska Juvenile Justice Association is governed by a volunteer board. The Executive Committee is comprised of the following officers serving two-year terms: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The board has various subcommittees to assist with conference planning and organizational development. In October of 2014 the Board hired Tom McBride as executive director.
