About Neighborhood Housing Services of Los Angeles County
Los Angeles Neighborhood Housing Services of Los Angeles County (NHS) is a non-profit lender and community developer dedicated to building stronger neighborhoods. NHS and its affiliates have always utilized a grassroots approach to delivering comprehensive products and services. The organization has been and is a leader in the single-family, affordable housing field in Los Angeles County. Over the last 35 years, NHS has reinvested more than $2.2 billion into neighborhoods throughout the county. As a part of this work, we have developed and rehabilitated more than 11,000 housing and commercial units, put 1.9 million families on the road to home ownership, created 175 block clubs, and employed 200 neighborhood youth. As a lender to under-served communities, NHS has maintained a loan portfolio with a 3% or less delinquency ratio and no foreclosures. NHS is the largest, non-profit, affordable home ownership provider in Southern California.
