About Neighborhood North: Museum of Play
Nestled in the heart of Beaver Falls, PA, Neighborhood North Museum of Play fosters child development and joy through the power of play-based learning, human connection, and community collaboration. Integrating the arts and sciences, our exhibits and programs are designed to provide children and their families with essential opportunities for play and hands-on creation to inspire curiosity, confidence, and wonder. Our programming is directly shaped by the needs and interests of our vibrant and diverse community, and we are proud to contribute to the well-being of children and families in Beaver County and beyond. We believe everyone should have access to play, so our programs, teachers, staff, and facilities are purposely prepared to support and welcome kids with different learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds. The first children’s museum in Beaver County, Neighborhood North, began as a pop-up museum in 2015, allowing us to pilot different exhibits and respond to community interests and feedback. As we have grown, our impact has been felt across the county. From the Learning Pods program we launched to address critical gaps in educational support for at-risk kids during the COVID-19 pandemic to our teaching artist development workshops, Neighborhood North has consistently shown up to meet our community’s needs. From 2024 to 2025, we engaged over 10,000 families and partnered with 100-plus organizations, and we continue to serve a valuable role in the learning ecosystem of Beaver Falls. To meet the growing demand, we have embarked on a journey to restore the historic News-Tribune Building, which will become the permanent new home for the museum. This expansive 18,000-square-foot campus will allow us to expand our capacity and programs and provide offerings for a broader audience, including teens and young adults. The ambitious project will also link Neighborhood North to the nearby Carnegie Library creating a vibrant learning hub and campus.
