About Neighborhood Place of Puna
Neighborhood Place of Puna is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting families and individuals on Hawaiʻi Island with accessing the necessary tools and resources they need to thrive; to create a safe, stable, and nurturing community. E mālama pono kākou! Our programs: 🌱 The Coordination Center 🌱 Anchor Point Youth Center 🌱 Family Resource Center 🌱 Hale ʻIki Family Assessment Center – Emergency Shelter 🌱 Homeless Engagement Team The Coordination Center is a drop-in and call center that serves as a first point of contact for Hawaiʻi County residents seeking help. We assist individuals in locating, navigating, and connecting with housing, financial, and health-related resources across the island. Anchor Point Youth Center is a welcoming, youth-centered drop-in space for individuals ages 14–24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We offer internet access, application support, basic supplies, and connection to caring staff. The Family Resource Center is a central hub for families, offering access to emergency supplies such as diapers and hygiene items, parenting support, and referrals. Free membership includes tailored assistance for families experiencing housing instability. At Hale ʻIki, our Family Assessment Center, we provide short-term emergency shelter and housing navigation to support families on their path to stability. The Homeless Engagement Team (HET) delivers compassionate, street-based outreach to unsheltered individuals, couples, and families throughout Hawaiʻi County. Through trust and consistent support, we help participants transition toward safe and stable housing. Our ultimate goal is not only to meet immediate needs, but to empower every person we serve to build a better future — for themselves, their families, and our island community.
