About Neighbors Along The Line
Neighbors Along The Line is a nonprofit social services agency primarily serving the northwest section of Tulsa with free services including Food Pantry, Medical Clinic, Literacy and a variety of other Community Activities such as utility assistance, 12 step programs, life skills classes, senior programming and holiday assistance. About 50% of the primary area served by our agency is classified as low-income, the number without a high school diploma is more than double that of the rest of Tulsa County and the residents rank in the bottom tier of almost every health indicator according to a recent study by the Tulsa Health Department. Our agency is not a United Way agency and we receive no government funding. Our ability to provide services is thanks to private donations. Additionally, we rely heavily on volunteers and partnerships with other nonprofits. With only 4 full time and 2 part time staff, we couldn't do it without our amazing volunteers. In 2010 we provided over 100,000 services! Since our beginning in 1976 we have worked to help residents improve their quality of life in as many ways as possible. We work hard to stay involved in our community so that we can be responsive to their changing needs. In addition to providing services, we work hard to be a shoulder to lean on as well. We may not be able to solve all our clients problems, but we do our best to be sure that no one leaves our agency feeling worse or more hopeless than they felt when they arrived.
