About Neighbourhood Legal Services
Neighbourhood Legal Services (NLS) is a non-profit and independent community legal clinic that has been serving the community since 1973. We provide FREE legal services and assistance to low income individuals who live within our catchment area and qualify for our services. We are dedicated to providing the low-income residents of our community with high quality legal services intended to promote their welfare. We believe that the low-income residents of our community have a right to access to justice through effective legal representation, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to direct their own destinies. We work with the community to address the root causes of poverty and systemic legal problems facing low-income people. We are committed to the promotion of the values contained in the Ontario Human Rights Code.
