About Neighbours First Foundation
Neighbours First Fund (NFF) is a grassroots nonprofit committed to building safer, more connected communities by centring local families and equity-deserving residents. We offer free and low-cost programs that support children, youth, and communities facing systemic barriers—guided by values of care, dignity, and inclusion. Our initiatives include arts and leadership programming, educational field trips, safety campaigns, and direct support services. Grounded in a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally responsive approach, we work in close partnership with community members—listening deeply, responding collaboratively, and amplifying local voices. We respectfully acknowledge that our work takes place on the traditional territories of many Nations, including the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Wendat, and the Mississaugas of the Credit—lands stewarded and cared for by Indigenous Peoples since time immemorial. Today, this area is home to many First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities. We recognize the enduring presence and inherent rights of Indigenous Peoples, and we are committed to ongoing learning, relationship-building, and action in support of truth, justice, and Indigenous sovereignty. At NFF, we believe every person deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported in the place they call home. Together with our neighbours, we are working to build a future rooted in equity, compassion, and collective care—because stronger communities begin with each other.
