Nelo are a very large boat building company based in Porto who have made in excess of 30,000 kayaks and many other forms of racing boat. Nelo kayaks win a high percentage of the available Olympic medals, with 27 of the 36 available in Rio. Nelo use innovation with research and development and are constantly looking to make their boats go faster and win more medals. Nelo rowing was established in 2016 to make World class sculling boats Technology and Innovation Our boats are constructed with carbon fibre and it has an intermediate layer of PVC. These materials provide a greater rigidity and durability. As we use a double mold in the process, our designs result in seamless and excellent finishes. Notable results. Our design team developed a boat with a flatter hull section for part of the hull , with the main goal of keeping the boat sliding longer and higher, reducing the pitching movements in each stroke. This concept has its peak in the bow, which is inverted, thus decreasing drag and producing a faster boat . Our engineering team also works hard to develop the best solutions for fittings and accessories, that break the mold on what exists and what can be done for rowing. We created a new concept of seat and rails. The seat is very stiff and lightweight, while being comfortable. The rails use all the length available on the sllde deck not limiting the rower in any way and disabling the need for adjustments of the slide rails .
