Did you know that besides containing the blue-print to most life forms, nucleic acids are molecules that are able to adopt complex 3D structures? These structures give them the ability to bind strongly to a wide array of targets in a selective manner. Nucleic acids structures with such binding abilities are called aptamers. Besides target recognition and binding, there is a specific class of these nucleic acids that are able to simultaenously bend or cleave DNA and RNA (aptazymes), which then allows for allosteric gene expression and regulation (riboswitches). Our platform allows an efficient high-throughput production of these powerful molecular tools in a customized manner, in order to provide our clients the tools needed to detect their target of choice, and, if desired, alter their sequence or gene of interest.
