About New Beginnings North

New Beginnings North CIC is a social enterprise based in Sunderland. We provide an ambitious and innovative approach to delivering social justice for neurodivergent young people within, and on the verge of the Criminal Justice System. Adopting a trauma-informed, child first approach we meet needs which in turn mitigates risk. New Beginnings North provides care and guidance for young people with neuro-differences who are at risk of social, academic and economic exclusion. Understanding the challenges they face we help and guide them as they navigate the complex barriers to re-engage with education, employment and training. We offer a holistic, tailored pathway co-created with the young people, that addresses their mental, emotional and physical health. Additionally, we provide 1:1mentoring, and workshops that help to build young people's: Understanding about their neurodiverse strengths; Confidence in applying for jobs; Skills for life; Communication skills; Skills for learning and Relationships and resilience.
