About New Colony Six

For now (Q4-2025) just over (New Colony) SIX decades now, Chicago's own New Colony Six (NC6) still remains among the undisputed leaders of the Windy City's 1960's Rock Revolution and we were THE FIRST EVER to chart! With the release of our self- penned single (that I co-authored), "I Confess", in November 1965, NC6 became the first Chicago-area group to successfully place a hit record on both the local & national charts. Utilizing vast, well-honed and now extremely long-lived musical skills, we achieved a string of 18 more local & national charted hits (a total of 17 of our "A" sides and two of our "B" sides reached Top 20 per radio surveys I have from across the USA) and that ride of recordings lasted well into the mid-1970's. #1 hits & gold records, "I Will Always Think About You" (1967) & "Things I'd Like To Say" (1968), both became Billboard "Top 20" smashes, each a million seller. As a result, NC6 spent a staggering total of nearly 200 weeks on Top 10/Hot 100 record surveys. We enjoyed national television exposure through appearances on The Mike Douglas Show, Upbeat, Lloyd Thaxton's "Showcase '68", plus countless local & syndicated programs. In 2002, the band was honored by induction into the Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; in 2022, its second year in existence - the same honor bestowed upon us by our home state of Illinois! Further, immense fan loyalty resulted in the release now of well over a dozen CD compilations of the Colony's career to date - from Japan, the UK, the USA & elsewhere. Today, in 2025, NC6 and yours truly continue to amaze, dazzle & delight fans of all ages in concert performances throughout the country = proof positive that over 60 years later, the magic of "Breakthrough", "Colonization", "Revelations" & "Attacking A Straw Man" (our four album titles) STILL runs rampant.
