About New Development Corporation
New Development Corporation is a Grand Rapids nonprofit committed to helping people with modest incomes buy homes they love. We buy houses on the north end of Grand Rapids that have become vacant or deteriorated, renovate them to like-new condition, and sell them at a reasonable price to qualified buyers who fall within the required income limits. We also seek to empower our clients in their experience of homebuying through education and neighborhood inclusion. GRHomeShare is a program of New Development which uses home-sharing to as a creative housing solution to the Grand Rapids Housing Crisis. We match existing homeowners (“providers”) who have a little extra space in their home with local residents looking for affordable housing (“seekers”) in an increasingly expensive and limited housing market.
