At times help is needed to overcome some obstacle in our life whether it is in a primary relationship, family functioning, or problems with parenting. You don’t have to go it alone. Professional mental health counselors are available to assist you in looking at your options. New Directions Counseling and Wellness Center’s goal is to assist with professional counseling services. The variety of services includes counseling for relationships, individual issues, parenting, adolescent and child, school presentations, and professional speaking services. The counseling staff includes Ken Bateman, Ed.D., a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists, a Texas Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor. Dr. Bateman has been a mental health counselor for more than 25 years, a university professor, a speaker and seminar presenter. Two Licensed Professional Counselor Interns who have completed a Master’s degree in Counseling are working under the direct supervision of Dr. Bateman. Tracy Smith, LPC Intern, and Amanda Schlieter, LPC Intern, supervised by Dr. Bateman, work with individuals, couples, adolescents, and children. We want to help.
