The New Jersey Association for Infant Mental Health (NJ-AIMH) envisions a competent cadre of professionals across disciplines that support the care and development of infants, young children, and their families in New Jersey. NJ-AIMH is the statewide organization for multidisciplinary professionals including mental health professionals, teachers, early educators, child care staff, home visitors, allied health professionals, doulas, nurses, social workers, administrators, legislators, and other professionals who support the relational and emotional well-being of young families. We promote the formation and development of multidisciplinary professionals in this field, create supportive partnerships with families, and collaborate with state-wide stakeholders to advance policies towards the betterment of infants, toddlers, young children and their families in New Jersey. The NJ-AIMH is the sole provider of the NJ-AIMH Competencies and Endorsement® system in New Jersey. Grounded in the best practices developed by the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health, the NJ-AIMH Endorsement® represents nearly a decade of effort to bring to the state a highly-regarded professional credential to Infant Mental Health multidisciplinary professionals in our field.
