About New Jersey High School Democrats

New Jersey has always been a hotbed for political debate and discussion. In recent years it has become a Democratic stronghold, culminating in the state’s unprecedented congressional “blue wave” in 2018. However, we still have work to do. Now more than ever, high school students are becoming increasingly passionate about politics. Our generation’s progressive energy will transform the country. But in 2019 and into 2020, it’ll be imperative to turn this passion into meaningful political change. Thus, as high school students ourselves, we believe that it’s our duty to facilitate and maintain a strong network of young Democrats across the state. We believe that as young people, we must rally together in a show of solidarity. Our generation has proven that we are capable of advocating for our strongest beliefs on issues like climate change or sensible gun legislation. We must continue to carry that spirit into 2020 and beyond. Therefore, the facets of our chapter include coordinating campaign work, the expansion of localized high school chapters across the state of New Jersey, and organizing events and workshops to help the youth of New Jersey become more involved in the civic process.
