About New Mexico Climate Investment Center
The New Mexico Climate Investment Center (NMCIC) is a mission-driven, independent public nonprofit investment fund, often referred to as a “green bank” (although it is not a traditional deposit-taking institution). NMCIC leverages limited public dollars to attract private capital for equity-focused, emissions-reducing projects that often lack access to conventional financing. The Center prioritizes investments that deliver direct benefits to low-income, disadvantaged, and tribal communities, as well as small businesses and nonprofits. Through this work, NMCIC advances the climate action goals of New Mexico and its local governments, while supporting a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
