About New to You

At New To You, we believe in making a lasting impact on the lives of foster children and families in Tennessee. What started as an annual tradition of sponsoring a foster child for Christmas quickly evolved into a much larger mission. While helping one child one day a year was meaningful, we wanted to do more. After years of fundraising for organizations like St. Jude Children’s Hospital, we decided to create a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting foster children year-round. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure that 100% of all donations go directly to those in need. Initially, we focused on collecting gently used clothing and other items to support foster children and families. This led to the name "New To You," reflecting the repurposing of items that would make a significant difference in their lives. However, as we connected with our community, we realized the needs were far greater than we anticipated. Inspired by these discoveries, we expanded our efforts to provide not only clothing but also food, housing, basic necessities, and even tuition assistance to individuals aging out of the foster care system. While our founding concept remains at the heart of what we do, we have grown to offer much more. We are committed to partnering with like-minded organizations to ensure that every foster child and family has the resources and support they need to thrive. Together, we are building a brighter future for Tennessee’s most vulnerable children.
