About New York Labor Health Care Alliance

The NY Labor Health Care Alliance Supports the American Labor Movement. The New York Labor Health Care Alliance is a purchasing cooperative organized as a 501(c)5 not for profit corporation whose purposes are to negotiate on behalf of its members (currently 64 union sponsored health benefit plans representing over 130,000 participants) with health care and related providers to establish economies and efficiencies in cost and delivery of health care services by pooling interests, efforts and purchasing power. Our mission is improve quality, expand choice and lower health care cost for all union members and their families. The NYLHCA assumes all costs in negotiating vendor benefits & contract terms by leveraging all member fund lives (now over 130,000). By doing so, the NYLHCA is able to obtain much better terms than a typical fund could do on their own. Through a comprehensive due diligence process, the NYLHCA will search for providers in particular areas, fully document the process (RFP or similar) which will assist your fund in meeting its ERISA obligations, and select an “endorsed” provider in that space. This NYLHCA endorsed provider will then be offered to all member funds however, it is not mandatory that all member funds use the product/provider.
