About New Zealand Steel
New Zealand Steel is the sole producer of flat rolled steel products for New Zealand's building, construction, manufacturing and agricultural industries. We operate a fully integrated steel mill at Glenbrook, about 60 kilometres south of Auckland. The mill is surrounded by 500 hectares of farmland acting as a ‘greenbelt’ buffer zone. We use locally sourced ironsand to produce around 650,000 tonnes of steel a year.
