About Next Generation of Tradesmen Foundation

Founded in 2022 by Brian and Janal Reid, the Next Generation of Tradesmen Foundation empowers high school students to explore career paths in construction and the skilled trades. Rooted in firsthand experience, Brian’s journey inspired NGTF—from navigating an underfunded school system and working low-wage jobs to finding purpose and success through an HVAC certification and eventually launching his own business, Serveway Heating and Air Conditioning. NGTF exists to serve youth ages 14–21 who may not see college as the right path. We offer guidance toward fulfilling, financially stable careers without the burden of student debt. We challenge the outdated belief that a degree is the only road to success and elevate the value of essential trade careers, from electricians and HVAC technicians to plumbers and construction workers. Through partnerships with schools, educators, and industry leaders, we provide students with real-world exposure, practical resources, and encouragement to pursue rewarding futures in the trades, whether they thrive in the classroom or prefer hands-on learning.
