About Next PAGE
NextPAGE is a literacy nonprofit that provides restorative creative writing workshops to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated kids. Our trauma-informed program equips New York City youth with the tools to tell their own stories— in their own words and on their own terms. With relationship-driven and healing-centered sessions, participants build community, explore self-identity and imagine who they want to become. Guided by top-tier publishing professionals, our Editor Circle — made up of volunteers from outlets including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Hearst Magazines — helps students develop their writing in a collaborative, trust-based environment. We’ve partnered with Boldly Moving Education Ahead, Elizabeth& Minnie Publishing and a team of child trauma experts to ensure that participants have access to holistic support— from nurturing educational environments to professional editorial opportunities. Together, we’re creating equitable pathways for young people to shape their voices and share their stories. Opus 1 Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 84-4029712), serves as the fiscal sponsor for the Next PAGE program, providing fiduciary oversight and enabling tax-deductible contributions to the program.
