About NextGrain Belgium

NextGrain Belgium is a company specializing in the upcycling of food by-products. Our mission is to contributing to the reduction of food waste by recycling food by-products available in great abundance and to promote the development of a circular economy. We offer a second life to these by-products, with high nutritional potential. This not only results in satisfying our taste buds, but also in maintaining our good health. Our preferred raw materials are Brewers' Spent Grains, from beer production and apple pomace from the production of apple juice. From these food co-products, we produce flours, both organic and conventional. Our approach favours a short-circuit collaboration with brewers from Brussels, thus making it possible to save these spent grains which are full of proteins and fibres (more than 21% proteins and 29% fibres). Additionally, the brewing process significantly reduces their gluten content, which proves to be beneficial to our health. Brewers Spent Grain flour finds a wide culinary application, whether it being salty or sweet. The apple flour, bring an interesting fruity and caramelized flavour, making it perfectly suited to a variety of culinary sweet preparations, such as pastries, pies, cakes, cookies, pancakes and even waffles. This flour contains a valuable source of dietary fibre and powerful natural antioxidants, which take care of our digestive system and balance our blood sugar levels. As a valuable bonus, the sugar content is low and perfectly natural. Through our action, we contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of these food residues. As a result, we contribute to lowering the carbon footprint of clients and partners who use our products.
