Nexus Medical is a leading innovator in IV Therapy Solutions. We invented the Nexus TKO Anti-Reflux Needleless Connector to prevent intraluminal thrombotic occlusions delivering IV Patency 24/7. TKO is an evidence-based technology validated in over 24 published laboratory and clinical studies. Nexus Medical LLC began in 2000 upon being awarded a grant from the US Army Medical Material Command in Fort Detrick, Maryland, to solve the problem associated with IV catheter failures among Warfighters. We discovered that unintentional blood reflux was the root cause of these failures. From there, we invented and recieved FDA clearance for TKO, a 3-position pressure-activated silicone diaphragm which maintains bi-directional fluid control and is integrated into our proprietary needleless connector for 24/7 blood reflux protection. The benefit of this technology is patient safety, longer catheter life, improved clinical outcomes, better patient satisfaction, and reduced costs.
